Honestly? I have a complex relationship with this piece of shit. On one hand, Joby‘s Gorillapod is truly an awesome piece of equipment. Simple design, goes where no standard tripod can go, extremely flexible, it can be great.

But it’s also actually pretty fragile. I wish Joby would consider more extreme conditioning for it. For example, its not great with high heat. It’s also prone to having its legs break. The rotating head is really not made for any kind of dirty conditions. You get the picture.

But with it in your kit, you will be able to extend your photo/video capabilities like you can’t believe.

I use it on pretty much every shoot. Highly recommended.
