With a career built at the crossroads of digital transformation, cultural branding, and business development, Matt has helped businesses, startups, and creatives break new ground by merging strategic innovation with unconventional problem-solving.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Matt developed an early passion for Japanese language and philosophy, later studying Kantian thought and Japan’s Kamakura period at Hobart & William Smith Colleges. After a semester in Shiga Prefecture, he moved to Miyako, Iwate, to teach English, where the 2011 tsunami reshaped his path, leading him to Tokyo and a career in consulting, media, and technology.
